Polyacrylamide is commonly used as a sewage treatment agent, three reasons why the use of polyacrylamide is not good.
- Polyacrylamide can be stored for more than 2 years in a cool place, it configured into a solutionand the storage time is limited, non-ionic and anionic solution storage can not exceed one week; Cationic solutions are best stored for no more than one day.
- The nature of sewage affect the effect of polyacrylamide,because different industries produces different sewage properties, sometimes fluctuate, and more complex. For complex water treatment adding a single agent simply can not meet the requirements of water treatment, it need to be mixed with other agents for treatment, so that the effect of the products will be more stable.
- Polyacrylamide is more sensitive to iron ions, calcium ions, magnesium ions than anionic polymeric substances. Iron ion is the catalyst that causes the chemical degradation of all polyacrylamide, therefore, in the preparation, transfer, storage of polyacrylamide solution, try to avoid touching iron ions, solution equipment is better to use stainless steel, plastic, glass steel or surface coating resin of carbon steel containers.
Polyacrylamide (PAM) for water treatment can be used alone, it can also be used in combination with PAC, but both of them must be stirred separately, according to their respective circumstances to determine the amount of water and dosage when dilution.
